The following committees are made up of volunteers. Should you wish to offer your time and talent, please contact the board liaison to the committee you are interested in joining, or drop a note in our office in the Small Clubhouse.
ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL BOARD
The Architectural Control Board (ACB) will have five members who have been approved by the Board of Directors. The ACB enforces policies pertaining to exterior changes and/or alterations affecting the dwelling or structures within Newport Cove. It has the authority to approve or disapprove any exterior structural changes or alterations within Newport Cove according to the guidelines of the Association’s governing documents. The ACB Committee meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6 pm in the Small Clubhouse.
LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE
Oversees maintenance of the botanical features of the common areas of Newport Cove. Supervises new installations of plants, shrubs, trees, etc. and processes complaints and comments pertaining to the botanical aspects of the community. The Landscape Committee will also oversee the maintenance of our irrigation system.
BUDGET & FINANCE COMMITTEE
Establishes the annual budget with the help of the Management Company and makes its recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Budget & Finance Committee also monitors the community spending in relation to the budget.
MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE
Advises the Board of Directors and oversees maintenance of all facilities common to the community. Initiates and solicits estimates relating to maintenance, repairs and capital improvements, and petitions the Board with recommendations for action. The Maintenance Committee accepts four areas of responsibility:
1.Building Maintenance – Oversees the maintenance of both clubhouses
2.Recreational Maintenance – Oversees the maintenance of the pool, tennis courts and exercise room
3.Road Maintenance – Oversees the maintenance of the roads, parking areas and traffic signs
4.Lighting – Oversees the maintenance of street and decorative lights
LEGAL COMMITTEE
Will review and advise the Board on all contractual matters. It will be their function to review our documents as necessary and advise the Board of any conflicts with their actions and the documents. The insurance needs of the community will be checked to be sure all of our policies are in order.
WATERWAYS COMMITTEE
Oversees the maintenance of the loakes and canals in concert with the Lake Worth Water District, our Management Company and the Board of Directors.
WELCOME COMMITTEE
This committee will greet all new residents and familiarize them with Newport Cove, the surrounding neighborhood, and the services provided by all local utilities and our Management Company. They will advise new residents of our association’s governing documents, rules and regulations; arrange to have name and number entered at front gate and have the new name added to the directory. A telephone directory will be provided to the new resident.
REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE
This committee will assist homeowners wishing to sell their homes and advise them of the community requirements in this regard.
HEALTH & WELFARE COMMITTEE
Maintain emergency information for homeowners.
CLUBHOUSE SCHEDULING
One person will have the responsibility of scheduling clubhouse events to avoid conflicts. This calendar will be revised at the beginning of each year and as necessary throughout the year. Presently this is handled by Phyllis Nardone.
